Five Live STRYPES are talented young lads from Cavan, Ireland who are the talk of the town right now. Their recent live show at the Timebox Weekender back in May was sensational. They will headline the Saturday night at this year’s prestigious Euro Ye Ye festival in Spain and are rapidly picking up new fans all over the World including Jools Holland who saw them at a festival in Ireland recently (come on Jools get them pencilled in for the next series of “Later”). You can catch them live at 10pm for the next Crossfire on Sat 13 October and see for yourself just what all the fuss is about!
Coventry band THE SORROWS were a sensation at Le Beat Bespoké this year featuring the charismatic Don Fardon of ‘Indian Reservation’ and ‘I’m Alive’ fame on lead vocals. The Sorrows are one of the UK forefathers of the Garage Rock or the Freakbeat sound as it’s now known (a term given to maximum R&B). The band released a number of great 45’s in the mid sixties including ‘Take a heart’ which reached 21 in the charts and a brilliant album in 1965 which now fetches silly money among collectors. Expect to hear all the anthems on stage at 11pm!
