With the likes of "Long Tall Shorty", "The Universal" and  "DC Fontana" amongst many others appearing at previous Defiance events we can now proudly announce that Mod Legends "SMALL WORLD" will be coming to Crawley Saturday 24th March 2012.

"SMALL WORLD" featured as headliners and one of a total "8" bands at the Defiance SC "Help For Heroes" Mod do June 2010 at (Royal) Wootton Bassett, Swindon raising over £2000 for this worthwhile charity. This time we look forward to a full set from one of the most respected bands from the Mod Revival Era. With a couple of the rarest singles from the revival era (Love Is Dead & First Impressions) "SMALL WORLD" have etched their memory in Mod history.

"THE LOOP" who also played at Wootton Bassett also make the trip to Crawley after impressing at the "Help For Heroes" event in June. The Loop have just released their 4th album, which is released on Detour Records. Well worth a listen and available by contacting Dizzy etc. A three piece that is as tight as they come. Very popular on then Mod & Scooter scene. Many say 2012 could be their year. Hard Mod with more than a taste of 79. Not to be missed.

The third band "ECHO GENERATION (CHARLIE COOPER)" are what you could call Defiance Scooter Clubs resident band as local boy Charlie Cooper has featured in all the Defiance SC events in recent years including Wootton Bassett with great success. This time Charlie will be doing an eagely awaited acoustic set which we are all looking forward to.

Great night at the Defiance SC do saturday. Thanks to Charlie Cooper, The Loop & Small World for making it an amazing night. But without you lot that made the effort to turn up it would`nt of happened so give yourselfs a big pat on the back. For those of you that did`nt turn up, you missed a blinding night. So many old and new faces turned up (even Tony Morrison of Long Tall Shorty etc) that it wa...s hard to talk to all. It took me once 20 minutes to get from the edge of the dance floor to have a f** outside (about 20 yards) because of so many people I have´nt seen for ages. I know there was a few people I did`nt get the chance to talk to but I hope to catch you next time. The Last Great Act Of Defiance Scooter Club salutes you all..... There`s a lot of people we need to thank. Charlie Cooper who gave a blinding solo set, that bloke needs a band behind him, he can go far with all the energy and talent he has. The Loop were as expected amazing, giving a set they should be proud of. Their new album is also featured in this months "Record Collector" so get it while you can. Small World lived up to all expectations and more and it was a privilage to have them as headliners, there is`nt a tighter band around and they just take you back to when life was so simple and enjoyable with not a care in the world. Thank you all!!!!! Thanks also to the deejay`s (Dj English Karl & Dj Carl Skalistic) for keeping the dance floored moving until the end and beyond and thanks to Dj Gary Crickmore for a surprise set before Small World that went down well. Thanks to Dizzy for the merchandise and all the bar staff at the Goffs Park Social Club. Thanks to Cheryl, Darren, Gary and all the rest that helped promote and sell tickets. Also a thank you to Scootering, Classic Scooter Scene, Jetset (LCGB) and all the local papers and event web sites in Sussex and surrey etc for promoting the event. Thanks to The Mod Generation, Adam from Rowed Out Records and all the people who promted the event on facebook and in their magazines etc. Thanks to Mic, Adam, Mark and Alex for being at the door and everyone else that helped. The sound man did a flawless job as well. To finish thanks to all that travelled so far. We had people from Ipswich, Dorking & Guildford, Horsham, London, Worthing, The South West and even further away etc etc etc with a couple of people even coming from abroad. We thank you all and if we`ve missed you out we apolagise but we thank you as well and you know who you are..... But the biggest thanks should go to Gerard James, he was the person that arranged this event and without him it would`nt of happened in the first place. Sleepless nights and worries about everything from the PA to wondering if people would turn up took it`s course but in the end his resiliance paid off. Once again, thanks to all that turned up. We look forward to the next one. On behalf of: The Last Great Act Of Defiance Scooter Club.....

The Deejays for the evening will be Dj English Karl and Dj Carl Skalistic who will keep the dance floor busy with Mod & Scooter sounds before, during and after the bands until 2am. Both have been around for a few years on the Mod & Scooter Scenes and have played across europe and even in New York. New larger venue,  food available, cheap drinks and a paultry £10.00 (ADV) to get in (£12.00 OTD) it will be certain this night will be remembered for a long time.

We have also had questions regarding cheap hotels to stay for the event. Crawley has many hotels but your best bet is to stay at one of two Premier Inns which are cheap and very close to the event: Premier Inn on Goffs Park Road, Crawley which is on the same road as the event: Tel 0870 990 6390 Premier Inn in Crawley Avenue, Gossops Green, Crawley which is under a five minute walk away from the event: Tel 0870 990 6546 We hope to see as many of you there for this event, let´s make it a night to remember again and remember all are welcome.
