The Crimplenes, Stamp Out Disco and The Crusaders SC are incredibly excited to announce that for the first time ever, one of the seminal ‘80s mod revivalist bands from the UK will be headlining Australian Mods Mayday events. After months of rumour and innuendo it can now ...be revealed that the original line-up of THE CHORDS will be gracing us with their presence come winter, 2012. Formed in South East London in 1978, they were one of the most successful groups to emerge during the British mod revival. The four-piece were a singles band to the core, notching up a string of classic and powerfully aggressive guitar-laden 45s including Maybe Tomorrow, Something’s Missing and the iconic The British Way of Life. And now the good folk from down under will be able to experience their legendary energy-laden live performances first hand.

And if that isn’t exciting enough, Fremantle’s uber cool Hurricane Fighter Plane, Sydney’s Division 4 and The Mayday Dreamers and Melbourne’s Little Murders and The Messengers will also be making appearances over the course of the fortnight. In addition, there will be special guest DJs spinning the best in ‘60’s flavoured vinyl at all events (ably supported by The Crimplenes).
