Permalink Reply by Paul D,Angelo on April 19, 2012 at 17:47 I Still think like I did in the 60,s, I still go to the same clubs as I did in the 60,s, I am still as big a rebel as I was then, and I play in a pro 60,s Soul Band, so yes, great idea!!!
Permalink Reply by Paul D,Angelo on April 19, 2012 at 19:41 JB, Yes I still wear cool clothes, and I Go to the Twisted Wheel, regularly, Also other lesser known clubs which I still frequent, and like you, some of the things we got up to! even now, on a Sunday at around 11am, we can be found on a Manchester bound train, off our heads, on the way to the Wheel Sunday Soul Sessions, and as for life as a Soul Musician! you would,nt believe what we get up to! Life can still be fab!!
Hi JB, well you certainly got me going down memory lane, good times., if there are any coppers around well that's just to bad,i must say i could certainly use some blues, and do you remember the cough medicine,oh that really got you stoned, in fact it left you stoned, oops! I was a Guildford mod because i live in farnham so guildford was the main meeting place,we did come to Reading a couple of times, but usually on a saturday night we went squadie bashing in aldershot,OOPS! in trouble again. Yep Monday was sure a difficult day to get through your right there. Ireckon i must be the only guy who has a disable buggy that is red, white and blue, i want to try and get some fur to put on my back rest. Yea i think a 60's group could be fun, who do we have to ask permission from? take care.
a Plaza boy eh ? lol ever get to The Atta or the Walton Op ?
Hi Paul, yes i agree the 60's were something else and those of us that lived through it will always have it in there blood, we are all like dinosaurs we are slowly getting exstinct, but we will not be forgotten, a couple of blues and away we go.

Nice idea, why not, I am sure there is going to be some things perhaps not spoken about on a public website and may be considered illegal and not politicaly correct so we would have to be very , very careful !
Who gives a s***.............. bring it on.
Permalink Reply by Paul D,Angelo on April 20, 2012 at 10:46 Paul H, Yes I remember the cough medicine, and we used to get Benzedrine inhalers from the chemist, put them in a bottle of Pepsi, it used to froth all over the place, then drink it to get a wonderful high! On the way to Blackpool Mecca, as the drug squads were operating heavily at one point, we used to pull in at a public loo in a laybye on the way, the gear would be stashed behind a cistern, we used to leave the money in the same place, it was exciting as hell, apart from the time there was nothing there, we could,nt get any from anywhere, so I ate a full pack of Pro Plus, which of course did nothing, and had a crap night and a belly ache. Also, what about the Mondays at work? I Used to mess everything up on a monday, and we had mon tues and weds clothes, we used to lose pounds over a weekend, then put it on again by friday? am I ashamed? no, it was great and would do it all again!!!
Permalink Reply by Derek Gardner on April 20, 2012 at 10:52 I remember when the black bombers first appeared, bit more money than we were used to but WOW what happeneded to the next few hours, worked well.
until I was offered a tab, that changed everything, literally, everything, I had left the Rio in Ladbroke Grove which was a well know Jamacian club and the upstairs was decorated with tropical plastic fruits and I ended up on Ealing Common being chased by huge oranges !
Derek, love it i bet you were grateful it wasn't a banna what, i just went into 3 dimentiond and trying to find the middle line, with stars and flashing in my eyes usually finishing up in a corner humming green onions (so i was told),Good times bring them on back is what i say.
