If you're in Bristol, you could try these nights on for size...

'GoGo Children'. Monthly. Mix of R'nB, Ska and (although not really my bag) Northern stuff. Friendly crowd and good times a plenty... See ya on the dance floor!

Oh wow!! There's loads I need to check out then! Thanks so much for letting me know about them all, definitely be looking them all up. I doubt there is much on in Chippenham but I'm more than happy to go to Bath and Bristol when money allows :)

I run a monthly Mod night in Bristol - 'Dirty Casino' at The Stag and Hounds in Old Market - live bands and 3 ace DJ's

Saturday 24th November - with The All-Nighters (9 piece Northern Soul band)

Friday 14th December - with Daytona + Life On Six

Oh brilliant! Thanks so much for letting me know! I won't be down for the Oct 19th night but I will be for the other two so hopefully will be there!

I'm so happy they play in Chippenham, it means I can just stagger hope without worrying about having to get taxis, etc! Haha!

There's a guy called Derek "Del" Shepherd lives in Chipenham [or somewhere very close] he runs regular nights in the area [The older amongst us remember him from putting out Modzines like In The Crowd and Tailor Made in the 80's/90's]. There are also some members on here from Bristol / Swindon and surrounding areas. I'm in Somerset myself and not too far. Good luck with the move and hopefully see you around!

Treat the scrumpy with extreme caution. It's known as 'Swamp' in Frome and its addicts are known as 'Swamp Monsters'. Iggy and the Stooges did a song called ;Death Trip' which is all about Rich's Cider.

Haha! Swamp monsters! I'll have to remember that one, my cousins are fans of cider so I'll have to find an occasion I call call one of them a swamp monster. I'm not a fan of cider, I'm going to be the odd one out!
