Curly Hair
I need hair tips/ advice. I have horrible curly hair which means I really only have two things I can do with it, horrible messy curly hair or just short, like a numer 5 all over. Been considering getting it chemically straightened and then getting something decently smart done with it. Is that a good idea? Anything that can be done with curly hair? If not,no worries. Just thought might aswell ask. Cheers

I feel your pain...LOL.
As you've already said there's only two things you can do with curly hair. Grow it, or cut it off. If you grow it you will look like Rogar Daltrey, Bob Dylan or John Cooper Clarke. Stick a pair of shades on 24 hours a day and everything will be fine. Just watch you don't walk into Lamp Post's in the dark.
OR...cut it off. I go for a number 3, let it grow a bit and as soon as it starts to go mad get another number 3. The only problem with this is everyone thinks your a skinhead.

I have heard that if you go to the salons that cater for the black ladies that you can get your hair straightened a treat. I know at least one well known face who has this done.....

I got the curlies and keep it medium length...beatlish cut. I find it helps not to overwash. Maybe once a week tops. Use thinning scissors to take out the extra volume and create shape. Brush it lots.. and trim it often. I have to make small adjustments almost weekly to keep a good shape. I keep it shorter around the crown and back, and keep it loger at front and around the ears. It gives the illusion of length without having it too bob dylany.
the thing about straightening is you risk looking like early daltery or early mickey dolenz...which always seems a bit awkward. Nonetheless, if you do try it I'd love to hear how it goes...

I havent got curly hair, a bit wavy when I grow it Marriott/Weller style. Used a chemical straightner well known brand see Ebay link £10.00 bargain half a tube lasted 2 months, worked well. Worth a try at a tenner.

I have curly hair and if it grows too much it goes mad. I use straightners. I have a weller cut. That about washing it too much is true. Hope u find the answer mate

rodger daltry apparently used industrial ammounts of dippy doo in the mod days but with so many of us now losing our hair i dont see a number 3 as too much of a problem

Cheers for all the help everyone. Defo very helpful. Think I'm just going to try and straighten it and get a smart do on it. Suppose at worse I just end up doing my other option and getting it shaved. Even if I do ahve to spend some money, it'll be worth it otherwise I'll keep wondering. I like that home straightening kit Steve, think I'll try that out so hopefully will work. I'll let you's know how it goes. Now to decide on what I'd do with my hair and what will look good if I do get it straight..

Karl get the chemical straightner, get yourself a not too expensive set of straightners, hopefuly then you can hav a decent Mod barnet.....you dont hav to spend a fortune.....Good Luck
