Dexy´s
Anyone here got "One Day I´m Going To Soar", the new Dexy´s album already? I´m almost sure I´ll buy it this weekend, just wanted to hear some oppinions!?

Kai, I bought it on cd on release and even after the first listen I thought it was superb, classic Dexys, Rowland back to his very best.
It takes you on a journey from start to finish with a lot of humour throughout. Since purchasing, I have seen them on the BBC performing a few tracks and there is a lot of acting going on which may not be everyones cup of tea but it would make for an interesting gig. I posted on the 'What I bought today' thread after I bought it and would definetely recommend it to anyone with a liking for anything Dexys.............that said, Is it Mod?.......leave that for others to decide............

Doesn´t matter if it´s mod or not Gavin. I listened into the new one at amazon and it was good to hear that familiar voice I´ve known for several decades. I´ll look for it downtown on saturday!

Check the Jools Holland Youtube footage you will not be dissapointed Kai. Feel a bit angry with myself that I havent bought it yet (after waiting 27 years lol!) but will remedy this soon! Always loved Dexys since the revival era,dare I say it,even more than The Jam!

The double vinyl version goes for about £20 and you get the c.d. verson with it as well. Not bad eh.

The album starts off with a few ballads obviously, but the old soul influence definitely comes through in the more up-tempo numbers! Kevins voice is so unique that it´s grown as familiar with me as- say- Marriott or Weller.
