That's interesting, what is the scene in Norway like? And yes, the internet is a beautiful thing!

Hi Sara, it is none existant which is why I am so grateful for the internet. There are a few scooter clubs but they are generally full of petrol heads who just like messing with 2 stroke engines. The freezing winters mean that dressing well is near impossible from November to April and most of the locals are into rock music. Beautiful country for summer scooter tours though.

That's cool. Here in the US since our stuff is varied from region to region I would imagine, its different. I am from the NY area so its freezing cold in the winter here. We had a soul club in Manhattan but it closed down so I've been trying to find other venues/places.......

What groups/artists  do you like? I would imagine Norway has a good music scene?

Actually, the music scene is pretty poor here. Norway is very rural and so country and folk music are popular. The only Norwegian artist I like is a guy called Jarle Bernoft. Not really Mod but a good soul singer and I reckon had he been American or British, would be big. As it is he's not even big in Norway which is a shame.

There´s always A-HA to save the day, Graeme, lol! But seriously I spent quite a few holidays all over Norway and it´s the most beautiful country I´ve ever seen. Exept for the weather... :-)

You are right there Kai, the winters are horrible. Luckily, I am in the south where it is slightly milder but we still see temperatures of -25 regularly. The summer is very special though, beautiful coastline and mountains and so much space for so few people.
Hi Erich, American 50s culture is very popular with the car enthusiasts. I think it stems from when a large number of Norwegian men went over for building work back then. When they returned alot of them shipped their cars back with them and so it isn't unusual to see an old classic rusting away in someones yard.
I only wish there were so many classic scooters. Prices here are sky high and there are no parts dealers anywhere in Norway.

I´m german, but I explain my obsession with the mod way of life by the fact that my parents were in London nine months prior to my birth. Made in England, so to speak (though the fact that this was in ´68 should make me a hippie rather, lol! Or a proto- skinhead!?).

lol Apparently german people have awesome music taste, Beat Club was awesome, has anyone on here seen clips? They had SF on there a couple of times I think........

That´s right Sara, there was another german show called Beat Beat Beat, it was host to the Small Faces, Kinks, Creation, Spencer Davis Group and so on and on and on. Opposed to Beat Club from ´66 onwards bands throughout continued to play live on this one to a big dancing audience, not unlike RSG. You can find quite a few of these clips on youtube. You get Beat Club on DVD, though I don´t know if they´re easy to get in the USA. But then, there´s always Ebay...

I love Beat Beat Beat, I have most of them on DVD. I live  in San Francisco Ca. we can find Beat club here pretty easy for now.

Someone copied for me on VHS a couple of episodes of RSG and Beat Club, and even a Motown special. I still have yet to see what's on them though, I have a VHS-DVD combo machine but my tv keeps going out for right now, but yeah those shows were really good.
