The Society of Cool!
I need another suit as I only have one really good one. It's an Adam of London plain suit in Midnight Blue with 3 cloth buttons, twin vent etc. My plan is to get another Adam of London Suit as they fit me so well.
Not sure whether to go for a check, stripe, tonic or another plain suit.
So if you had to choose two suits from plain, check, tonic or stripe what two would you choose?
thanks

yes I have been considering a nice Prince of Wales Check from Adam of London. It will be a nice change and a good contrast to my plain suit.

I even wear them with skirts, but not suggesting that you do that G. LOL! One of my fave combos with collar and tie and pocket hanky/sqaure also.

Also still having an eye on this one by Gibson:
Another alternative is modclothin´s "Bond" PoW suit.
Hard desicions to make within a month´ time. Can harly concentrate on anything else, hahaha!

Permalink Reply by Gary Miller on October 31, 2012 at 19:55 Adam's suits are decent value for money, but while it's definitely a case of personal taste and budget, Mark Powell has an absolutely beautiful light grey chalkstripe available in his off the peg range, which is surely worth all of your pocket money.
With regards to Adam's so called boating blazers, sorry, but I think they're absolutely dreadful. Firstly, they aren't boating blazers at all, they're simply striped suit jackets. A proper boating blazer doesn't need a ticket pocket, and should have patch pockets rather than flapped. It also doesn't need to have a 3 button front either. For what a proper boater looks like try having a look at, dare I say it, University outfitters that actually specialise in them, they'll do exactly what it says on the tin. It's not revolutionary, and if you get a good one they'll even tailor it for you should you want or need any alterations.
Secondly, the colours that he's stocking are just appalling and, to be perfectly honest, a little embarrasing as you'd surely look like a packet of fruit pastilles - but hey ho, these are only my opinions.
So, in answer to the question, a rather tasty chalk stripe would be in order, with Mark Powell's head and shoulders above anything off the peg, but you may find that you could actually get one made to measure from a different tailor for the same cost.

Just check out the fit and spec http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251183271295?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&...
