The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool

Reading down some of the posts in recent weeks I have noticed quite a few people talk about getting a suit made for £500 or so. When I got mine done a couple of years ago I paid £800 for it. I am looking to get another one done soon and have asked a couple of bespoke tailors what price they are looking for and yet again I was quoted around £800. So is the £500 people are referring to for made to measure, or have I been quoted too much for a bespoke made suit ? I am quite sure that everyone knows the difference so I won't go into that.

Here in the NW., its about £800, but if we are talking mohair and maybe silk twist you are over £1,000.

If you are a little pushy you get what you want, ie to your contours, lol, and with those features that make you want to wear it again and again.  That great contrast lining...that tweak to the lapel...the slant of the pockets... the angle of the pocket in the troos.....larger buttons....smaller buttons....who would not feel great....but it kills on the bank balance.
