Madras Jackets

Madras Jackets, do you like them? would you sport one, do you have one?

Modclothin do a small range of nice looking Madras style jackets, would be quite nice for The Small Faces convention!

I think this is a look that only the younger end pull off. Any of us over 30's would probably end up looking like american game show hosts.

Thats what I thought, too. I really like them but opposed to boating blazers I think I wouldn´t dare, seeing as I ´m "over 30" for quite a while now... ;-)

Oddly enough, I'm on mirror side of this. Although I feel I don't look right in boating blazers at my age, I'm perfectly fine with madras. Here's my take: http://mod-male.blogspot.com/2012/06/madras-jacket.html

I think it's because I still see those jackets as an American 'Ivy League' thing that still can carry into older age. I will open myself up to MAJOR criticism, but here I am, well into my thirties, in madras. Don't worry, I've got a thick skin.

Here I am, well into my 40´s, at a Sharon Jones gig with my beloved wife ( yes, the one who won´t let me wear bright red socks, Clem!) Goes without saying that you´re looking fantastic, Carlos!

Kai, that type of blazer I can totally get behind! I like the more narrow striping as opposed to broad bars. Plus, it goes great with the shirt! You guys look great and I'm betting by the end of the night you were exhausted from all the dancing!

Well, almost. By the end of the night some bloody w***** "by accident" spat a mouthful of beer over my back. He didn´t even think it neccessary to excuse himself, but I convinced him to give me his shite hooded sweatshirt to wipe my back. If my brown eyed Lady hadn´t been with me, he wouldn´t have got off that easy. Anyway, that´s how that fantastic evening ended, hahaha! Plenty of dancing nevertheless, of course! My favourite current soul act!

you look sharp there Kai! The jacket behing you looks a little like the plaid jacket I have but it's more colorful. Pretty sure it's not madras though.

I've actually pondered ordering a check Harrington in the past. But... I think I thought better of it.

Have a look at this one, Clem: It´s by Gibson Of London, just like my boating blazer in the picture. I really like it, but couldn´t find it in my size anywhere. By the way, if anyone knows where to look... !?Maybe it´s the one you have, after all...?
