The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool!

Does anyone know of any decent mod clothing stores in Glasgow? I usually just end up having to buy my clothing online but if anyone could maybe recommend any good mod stores in glasgow that would be much appreciated. cheers

There are no shops that are Mod as such Kieran. But if you know your stuff and look around there are loads of places that you can find decent gear nowadays. Blitz on West Nile street usually has some really nice stuff, and now and again you get some real good finds in TK's. Debenhams is worth a look as is John Lewis, and sometimes you get some really nice knitted tops in M&S. There is also Dee's on the Trongate that has been selling Mod gear at least since the revival days of the late 1970s. In addition to all that choice for brand new clothes there are a wealth of second hand shops and car boot sales where you are always likely to pick up something original for a few quid.

cool. thanks a lot mate. I'll check some of them out

Debenhams  on Argyll St do good  Ben Sherman & Fred Perry gear.

Frasers also do Fred Perry & there is a Fred Parry shop in the Buchannan Gallery.

Pretty Green also has expensive Mod gear

Modclothin online does excellent clothes/shoes+

thanks John. ill have a look at that site

Chris coverd most of the shops m8 but slaters can be worth a look, ben sherman harringtons for £50 shirts around £35. they also have some guide london shirts around the £40 mark. GT western road from kelvinbridge to byres rd has 3 great vintage shops. one in otago st. byres rd has several. if you want to splash out then rossi on ingram st have lots of great gear. just along from pretty green

Dees of Trongate, cheap-ish. Smart clothes are downstairs, casual stuff is upstairs.
