being honest ,i was on modculture for ages but modgeneration is a much more enjoyable site so it does nt really matter to me , it just seems to be the old site on a different format but without the forum

Nicky Bubbles and I were only talking about it a few months back on a PM. Dave did do a great job trying to sort out all the crap and general dog's body stuff, but the forum was out-of-control at the best of times. Some members were actually quite abusive and elitist, all the while hiding behind a computer screen and not being booted for it. I know somebody in Adelaide that was on that forum- old enough to be an original Mod, but poses as Revival - and he's a real smarmy c***, pardon my French, and glad he's NOT on here! At least people like Derek, JB, Maria Veall and Reggie and others on here don't behave like that and (I'm sure) enjoy telling us their tales of the past.

However, I do enjoy reading the city guides - and although I've been composing one for Melbourne - I promised Dave some time back I'd give that to him when II'm done. Those city guides - I think - maybe need some more places added to them, somehow. You guys in the UK have far more opportunities for clobber choice, night outs, vintage stores and fairs than we do here in Oz. Oh, how I long to go back... ;-)

i like the new site, but on the whole prefer modgen, as its an enjoyable site to visit. the reason i stopped going on modculture, (or rather the forum) was because of all the bitching, if you ask a question, you got abuse, and some were posting as if they were some super ace face and everyone else was a ticket..used to piss me off reading all the arguments. even remember a couple of guys talking about having a fight over someones girlfriends play list. thought to myself, sod this, and didn't visit again for months. our scene really does not need that kind of crap. hopefully M/C will go from strength to strength as it is a good site, tho behind in a lot of things, news and interviews wise etc.
