The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool

Possibly another controversial question that I have been pondering on again
If I think of modish cars from the 60s I would have to say it was the mini and or the e type jag.
But what of today's motors. Im hoping that a new Audi tt is coming my way very soon as I think it has the lines of a future classic much in the same ways the jag has aspired to. I
Put the question out there then does anyone think any of today's cars is in any way modish And if so which ones would u get

Hi, recently picked this up complete with hard top, service history all for under 2k, can't wait for the summer. I know there are a lot of BMW haters out there but I love the lines, mod or not? not for me to say.

On my page under scooter, I do say Alfa Romeo.

I have one of these which I think has a lovely rounded retro look.  Its the GT Cloverleaf.

And I got my wife to stand in front of it lol

Oh my god, you should feed her properly, Robert!

My first car was a MINI second hand, that was '68, The other car the mods drove round Ilford was the Ford Anglia 105E the one with the sloping back. Both cars were easy to 'do up' go faster stripes big wheels lowering. If you had a bit more money a Cortina GT, 1600E or the now mega expensive LOTUS CORTINA. I know i wanted a car asap because i had a really bad accident on my bike and it was better for the ladies (you know what i mean ).Most of our gang never had cars at that time but one by one they got one, better for keeping the suit nice and clean.

in the late 60s chrysler added the option of a mod top to its range of cars

lastly heres a mock ad of what the new [ yet old] challenger would look like with one

i think if anything it confirms that in the USandA  mod equals austin powers

My first car was a Mini so i think they are THEE car of the 60's, love the e-type but out of range for 99% of early mods. The Mini has resurfaced again so it proves classic things never go away.

Here are a couple of my early cars, my White Cooper S was a Speedwell car and the Red one was a real nice 850 with some trick bits that were not obvious from the outside, its still about and is normally on a stand at the shows, I am stuck in the 60/70's and despite having plenty of modern cars to choose from in the garage I dont get exited by them at all, finding a modern car to give you a smile is almost impossible.

Sorry about the links on my previous post, the site would not let me upload piccy's but here is another try,

I agree fully with you, they might go 0-60mph in 4 secs but hey look at them no class or design
