Mods n Trainers

I like Retro Adidas I know many Mods wear them, had some Gola's, got a retro puma pair lately. What is everyone else likin.....any fotos? Mr.ClaretandBlue saw ure Golas on the trouser length thread...nice.

Paul Weller mentioned once he liked the trainers Jimmy wears on the front cover of the Original Quadrophenia LP.....He didnt know what they were?.....Anyone else know? ....they look like Gola.   My fave Adidas Claret=WHUFC

Mine aren't vintage, but I wear these ones taken from the Adidas Vespa range!!

Thanks Steve! It took me a little while to break them in because I don't wear trainers much! LOL!

Guys no offence but where would u wear these??  Down the gymn. Been a mod for 29yrs and i have never wore trainers, am i therefor an elitist??

The shoes on the original quad cover are early bowlers, not trainers though very similar. I have just remembered that i have wore trainers playing 5a side.  :-))

Wear trainers to train in every day so I have to pick retro style trainers that don't cost too much . I am wearing Dunlop 1972's today in red white & blue.

I'm actually thinking of joining a gym in the new year John, so I guess I would have to wear them there!! I only wear them when I go walking to get some exercise. I'm not a bloody casual! LOL!

You're not an elitist John. I don't like trainers generally, I just like certain styles, but I don't wear them very often. You're right though, trainers only have a place in the gym, nowhere else.

Hi Steve, The ones Jimmy wore on the original Quad album look a lot like the retro Adidas Originals Italia range [which I think are really cool!] ....

Hi John yeh I know where ure comin from, not sayin trainers are everyone cup o tea! I like em, Weller wore Adidas sambas in The Jam....I got into The Jam, liked Wellers style and would copy sum stuff from him. OCS wear trainers, I seen many Mods wearin trainers, woz interested wot other people are wearin. Hence the title Mods n Trainers.

Steve, if you like trainers more power to you M8. Some mods dont wear underpants!! But thats a whole new discussion.....LOL:-)) Guess its that personal choice thing and i can live with that all day long. KTF
