The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool!

I, as you may know, am of a Modernist persuasion. I, as you will not know, own a skateboard. I bought it because my young brother (12 yrs) wanted one, and wanted someone to do it with (i'm a good brother aint I). I enjoy it and have been doing it every know and again for the past few weeks.

Mods and skateboarding dont really go together, but i endeavour to bring some much needed class to the 'sport'. What are your view on me being so 'rebelious'?

Only problem is skateboarding is very hard on shoes. So probably want to wear some sneakers. I don't think you should limit yourself if you want to skate!

There's tons of different styles of skateboarders so a mod one wouldn't be a big deal, nor should it.
And then there's this:

Ive read that before :) its a good article. shows wise, ive actually been browsing, and there are plenty of shoes styled like moccasins, By big brands aswell :) however, i dont do it skate enough for a forty quid pair... yet

The skateboard scene could need style, of course and sneakers do we have also. The link from Clem is good, so why not. It is just everything about style. Mod = be different.

You could pop a couple of lamps and mirrors onto your deck? Maybe a fox tail??

I have no problem with the idea of a mod skateboarding, why tie yourself down to one particular idea?

Go for it.

might be a bit of a hazard but i'll see ;)

I am rarely off my skateboard mate so don't worry about it. It you put continental white walls with chrome wheel rims on it everyone will be in total awe, both Mods and skate dudes ha ha.

haha cheers Chris, that'd be a unique look!

Fair f**** to you. I love skateboarding and still love Blink 182 etc etc, that will all never leave me, I just don't dress like it. But skateboarding is underrated and cool as f***. Keep at it mate and as you say bring some class to the sport.

Haha cheers guys. All i need now is the a classy graphic! and surprisingly, mod graphics exist... just they look a bit naff and i dont want to pay loads for something i'm going to ultimately desroy (The graphic, not the board itself :P) I'll post some classy pics up when i think its time

Ha brilliant! I used to skate but am far too accident prone to keep it up, it's like watching an episode with frank spencer.
If you don't want to ruin your style with clunky vans or any other skater shoes, I'd suggest some on the classic Adidas it's more 80's revival/ Brit pop.

But keep it up, who needs a scooter when you have a skate board! Be the new generation of Mod.
