Monkey Jacket V The Harrington

The Monkey Jacket or The Harrington, which do you personally prefer ?

For me it is the Monkey jacket as my first choice of casual attire when the weather is of course suitable but I am quite convinced many prefer The Harrington. It would be great to hear the opinion of others on this subject and why you prefer the one you would choose, if indeed you can choose.

Monkey jacket for me, never seen one like the 1st photo, with the Italian colours. With a name like Viola, Im a big sucker for Red White and Green.

Their both very stylish, I haven't worn a Harrington since I was 16 I'm afraid to say, used to wear a sky blue harrington with sta -press and a red paisley pattern cheese cloth button down shirt under it, there was only one dude who wore the Harrington like no one else on ''Planet Cool'' - Steve McQueen, here he is, the man!!Cool as!!!!!!!!!!!

I like most love the two styles, but I prefer the monkey jacket look on the younger mod - just punted a Fred Perry one on the bay a few weeks ago.

I've just bought my 3rd harrington from Baracuta this year, the latter being the G9 'Hazelwood' Herringbone wool jacket.

Andrew, I see Baracuta do a jacket called the monkey sports harrington. Confusing, I know.LOL

Its monkey jacket for me.....I recall them bein called scooter or golf jackets....I have 2 one navy one brown, rarely wear them. Had Harringtons in the 80s particularly liked my stone coloured one, always wanted a red one never got one!

My prefered jacket is a Levi cord jacket, had a result got a wot I can only describe as mustard type colour ,one I have never seen before the other day.

Hi Steve, I used to call em Golf jackets in the 80's. I was talkin to a sixties mod the other day and he said they were called cycling jackets when he used to wear them.

I like yourself Andrew called them Golf Jackets in the 80's still do call them that, mind you I don't see any Mods wearing cycling tops these days either, but you never know.
