The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool!

As a lot of you know, I'm a young mod. In todays world where Rhianna and Nicki Minaj rule the music scene, mod music and mods themselves stand out. This is  especially true in young mods as they are born and raised in that culture with many of their peers liking that kind of music. Do the 1st and 2nd geerations of mod feel that we're doing a good job in terms of good publicity for mod?

I definately stand out from the crowd and i feel that maybe more people should know about us lot. The amount of times people ask why i dress like that is unbelievable. Im sick of trying to explain who i am,as its just who i am. It would be nice if someone knew or even if there were people near the area!!

Ive seen a lot of unsigned young bands that say there mod and dress smart in there vids n gigs but none of em seem to make it big hope they do tho recon there could be another mod revival but then everyone will dress smart/mod which would mean people would look the same like everyone now wears chinos and shitty things with brown patches on em atm lol but my mate always says i look like im in a band tho lol.

Good points, I agree with both of you. I like the fact that being a Mod means you aren't the same as everybody else, like Jimmy says to Kev in Quadrophenia. But on the other hand I would still like there to be more 'awareness' about Mods.

I think as long as you stay true to yourself its cool.

I've met a few younger mods and to be honest they've been complete prats.Doing things like telling me my lapels are half an inch too wide or I dont know about music because im not blown away by all northern soul.

Im sure not everyone is like this though.

trust me theyre not
