That video is truly disturbing.

Freaky looking ain't it........why he's not wearing shoes or socks, I don't know. Truly bizarre!!!!!! Feet in general are mad looking but to see them doing that.....

Honestly though Eugene, you'd be better off going to a few nights, check out what other people are doing and then work it out to a few choons at home and you'll get into it yourself. Rather than learning it, you'll just feel the beats and then the moves and grooves will follow......not that I'm any good at it!!!!!!!!

Thank you for links!

Eugene the only way to learn to dance to norhtern soul is going to a club and watching what other guys are doing. dont worry about fitting in.....just watch and adapt moves from other folk but more importantly be on the beat....you'll get the hang of it soon enough....

totally agree with Niall and Joe, get urself 2 a club or do and get on the dance floor! get the feel 4 it the rest will follow, not all styles r the same and once u get the hang of it u will find u will hav ur own personal touch....

Its big problem, because no one club plays Northern soul. I can listen and dance only in my flat, car or my own party. thats why i have to watch video.

this dvd is good ,give it a try, dont want to sound sexist but most good dancers are men ,so be careful of staring at strange men in dancehalls ,unless that floats your boat.... http://www.northernsouldance.co.uk/

Thank you for link!

The beauty of Northern Soul is at a do no one cares at all how bad you are, as long as you're having a good time (of course no one likes the weirdo drunk guy trying to hard getting in everyone's way and knocking people over, but that goes without saying haha). The same goes with ska, just enjoy yourself and learn by doing. I'm still no good and do need to have had a few before I give it a go, but not everyone is as self conscious as me! :P Keep us updated on how you get on.

i promise, Karl. I want to get high level, when i will listen it in MP3 player and to walk dancing :))

Hi, guys. I'm big fan of this dancing style as everyone here i think:-)

Not everyone, I think all that backflipping, high kicking, spinning nonsense that has nothing to do with the rhythm or feel of the music is a bit pony to be honest ... but each to their own & all that!
