The original skinhead style was certainly sharp and it's good to see that most of the skinheads around today adopt the original style and music. In fact I was so inspired I went out today and got a number 4!
I have to agree with you Andy, I have no memory of this anti - facist group of skinheads from glasgow. This is not to say they didn't exist, my memory is very poor, however the only skinheads that I remember were a bunch of bully boy facists - garzo, jake, kenny crawford and others whom I forget, who all bolted from the scene when a lot of eastend guys who could handle themselves got into mod.
If thes guys were around they were certainly well after our time, as I too have never heard of them. Between 1980 and 1982 the skins were mainly into Two Tone and Oi, and most of them were not what I would call anti fascist. Pauline Black from the Selector tells about how all the skins used to give it Zeig Heil even although they were watching a black group. What I would also say is that the scooter skins who were in the majority at Morecambe 86 were also not anti fascist, unless giving nazi salutes is a new way of showing such views.
