The Society of Cool
Hi,
I am after some advice on buying a scooter, after a cheap run around, looking on ebay and there are a number of scooters available, only looking at a budget of £1000 for something that is a runner, but could be tatty, which would be a project over the winter months. all the lammys seem to be projects only for my budget, but some vespa available for the budget. any advice? thanks all at CVS for their advice already.

Permalink Reply by stephen shearer on February 19, 2012 at 13:35 I've seen them before on ebay, they do look great, but I read an artical in scootering mag some years ago, on them so I would not touch them, but cheers for that.

the repayments wouldnt be much and you can concentrate on enjoying your first years scootering rather than dabbling in the minefield of secondhand scooters and pushing and repairing the thing a lot .
Permalink Reply by stephen shearer on February 19, 2012 at 16:16 looking into that, but am saving to get a SX200 in a year or two, so just need a run around for now. cheers
Permalink Reply by JB on February 19, 2012 at 16:04 This has got me looking at scooters again, but i mustn't. 62 and still got all my limbs, which all work well, so stop whilst I'm winning, but there is/was a Vespa primmy just about to finish on ebay, 125cc but Registered as a 50cc, which might mean you could ride it on a car licence without using L plates. it needed repaint but mot Jan 13. has about ten minuites to go on EBAY.
Permalink Reply by stephen shearer on February 19, 2012 at 16:18 have a bike license, had a need for speed a long time ago, until I crashed my CBR 600, probably why my neck and back have given me jip, or its old age. cheers
Permalink Reply by stephen shearer on February 19, 2012 at 21:53 cheers jason, agree with you on the rip off britain, I have seen lammy's for 10 grand, and then a simular model for 3 grand, so I am still a little unsure of what is a deal and what is a rip off, but let me know about the PX, nearly got one off ebay today, vespa 200e, its £1,450 buy now. again what if it a dud.
cheers

Permalink Reply by hubert davenport on February 19, 2012 at 21:20 JB theyre really not that dangerous
unlike the 17 year old me i just potter about on my scooters and dont take any chances
the most important thing i find is to keep an eye on impatient car drivers behind [ impatient despite the fact youre keeping up with the flow of traffic ! ! ]
