from what ive seen of pg its not worth the money theyre asking
that said i do have a turtle neck sweater by them which i'm quite happy with
they need to pull their socks up elsewhere in the range though
like them both but im a bit old school so fred perry just edges it
I'm a regular at the Pretty Green store in Glasgow and the clothing/customer service is the very best.
Permalink Reply by Mark Sneddon on April 11, 2012 at 20:34 My experience is to read Pretty Green labels before washing as I got a jacket that told me to wear it for a long time before washing it, its a pity I washed it before wearing it for the first time. Pretty Green gear will not last the same time as vintage Fred Perry but it has some nice threads but also that is reflected in the price.
Permalink Reply by hubert davenport on April 11, 2012 at 20:44 pretty green stuff doesnt look like it would last a few wearings of anysort or take too much abuse in the wash like is mentioned above.
by contrast ive got fred perry stuff particularly their polo shirts and monkey jackets that are near indestructable
useful moddish attire for those occasions down the pub where you end up blotto
not a fan of either, Ben Sherman and Merc for me. Checked out the Quad exhibition at pretty green which was really cool but wasnt impressed with the cloth at all However the Who parka was tops but pricey.

Permalink Reply by aldobhoy67 on April 11, 2012 at 20:59 i like a lot of Pretty Green items and would wear most of what ive seen, but wouldnt pay the asking price. i tried the shirt your talking about alisha in a sale for £28, unfortunately it was too long in the sleeves so i was gutted. as stevo said Fred Perry has stood the test of time, will Pretty Green be around in 10 years time.
Permalink Reply by Mark Sneddon on April 11, 2012 at 20:59 Maybe a crossover is required some Pretty Perry or Fred Green?
Permalink Reply by Gordon on April 11, 2012 at 21:08 If i had to pick one of the two it would be Fred Perry but i don't buy stuff because of the label, i buy it because i like it but i do like some labels better then others. If i ever see anything by Pretty Green that i like at the right price i might buy it but to be honest there is nothing that label does you can't get better and at a better price elsewhere.
Permalink Reply by Alisha Lola . on April 11, 2012 at 21:19 i LOVE the fred perry womens shirts and polos and £28!!! thats a bargain and aww sleeves to long now nobody wants a sloppy shirt.Thats a good point if standards at pretty green are going downhill then its a good question to ask will it still remain in ten years? but fred perry i would reccomend 100% ben shermans ok aswell.
