Taking a tumble....
Came off the scooter on Monday, front locked up and sent me flying. Cabby who stopped said it looked like Superman had lost his powers....my reply wasn't pleasant. Anyway, the crash has more or less wiped out the 6 months of work I'd done on it, and I'm absolutely gutted!! Luckily, nothing mechanical, just looks like its been dragged off a scrap heap. I could of cried when I see it in the morning, as I hobbled up to it, sitting there in bits....with a poxy parking ticket on it!!!! Gits!!!
Anyone else had a bad tumble recently?

Sorry to hear that fella.
I've had my fair share of tumbles in my time, some of them pretty scary but unfortunately it's all part and parcel of riding scooters. One thing I've learned to do is wear a good jacket with armour on the shoulders and elbows.
As they say, get on your horse as quick as you can before you start to get the shakes about it.

Cheers boys, luckily walked away with only a few bumps and scratches....the brand new Harrington took a battering, massive chunk out the shoulder. Doubt I'll get a refund on that haha

yeh came off on the way home from brighton on the M25 junc 29 broken shoulder blade and broken ankle off work for 2 mths but it could have been worse could have happened on the way to brighton

Good to know you're okay man. I mean sorry about the scooter (and the Harrington) but good hear no serious injuries. Look on the bright side, you didn't write this discussion post from a hospital bed.

My first and only tumble was on a Sunday (sunny day, erveything perfect), it takes two men and more than 1 hour to start my "Queen". A friend wanted to come with me .... fine, everything ok. Second start: too many power, first gear? and a car just in front of me.....nothing happend to my Queen, just scratches at the car and I was shocked.....A story that makes its round still today and always funny.

cant believe the bastards stuck a parking ticket on your scooter,..what a total bunch of tossers.
Ive came off my scooter a couple times, never a good thing.

Sorry to hear about the tumble Sammy. If you are in need of some repairs I can thoroughly recomend retrospective scooters in north London. They've done quite a bit for me and Niall there is a nice bloke who understands we aren't made of money. As the others said, be thankful you weren't hurt.

At least you're ok, i knew three guys who had fatal's back in the 60's before the helmet laws...hope the repairs go ok and not to hard on the wallet..take care mate..

i would appeal the parking ticket given the circumstances .
they are scum those civil enforcement officers or whatever name theyre currently masquerading under
