The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool

The Blues Band, fronted by Paul Jones are playing Glasgow in May. The questions are (1) has anyone seen them live, and (2) are they worth going to see ? Paul Jones always had a great voice as far as I am concerned but it would not be much use having a great voice if the material was not so hot, so what do those out there who have seen them think.

Hi Chris,

I saw the Blues Band last year at the Sage in Gateshead. Jones still has a great voice and can interact with the listener. The music was of course well played. The set was made up of good old standards and is well worth a look. Good without being top notch!

Cheers for that Snow Runner. The gig is on at the Renfrew Ferry on the river Clyde, which is a nice venue. Tickets are £17 so worth a pop by the sounds of it.

Yes, at that price and for a little bit of history, got to be worth it.

Cheers for that review mate. You never know, I may even get one of my Manfred Mann LPs signed.
