The Society of Cool!
Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!
I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!
I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.
The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!
Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!
More than acceptable Brendan.
I like it Brendan, though I´m afraid I´m too old to get used to two button fronts ;-)
Never been able to get a 3 button suit. All of my stuff is 2 and single button. I don't know about you being too old Kai, I think we are about the same age.
Slim burgundy long pants, navy fitted long sleeve shirt, slim tie, and grey blazer with blue black and white stripes all from Australian mod brand Jack London. Teamed with a Ben Sherman pocket square.
Hmmmm, strangely drawn towards this Jack London suit for some reason Brendan:
Ha, ha, The Charlton suit. I actually have that one and it fits your name.
I'm afraid I must correct you on Jack London being a Mod label, Brendan. It is not a Mod label, only a label that sell mostly Mod-inspired clothing that caters for a lot of hipsters now. Not saying you are a hipster, though. It's already bad enough JL did a photo shoot with my old scooter club down here in Victoria, thinking the club was full of Mods! How wrong JL was! ;-)
It's probably the closest thing we have to a mod label. I usually buy the stuff that looks the most mod. We don't have an actual JL store here in Brisbane but David Jones at Queens Plaza in the city has a large JL section. So I get my stuff either there or when I go to Melbourne. I have always found it very hard to get mod stuff here apart from Ben Sherman. BTW I'm to old to be a hipster. I have nothing against them and get on pretty well with some (hey make good coffee). So what happened with the scooter club?
The jacket looks great, but what I find most stunning here is the combination of different colours! Fantastic!
The colours are good.
Thank you Ronnie and Bobbie.
Happily purchased a few days ago at a local discounted department store. One of my musical idols, Burt Bacharach and his recently published (2013) autobiography
