What would be a good 'starter' scooter for a tall lady like me? a friend said a Lammy Ld (bit expensive?!) or Vespa PX, there was another Vespa but can't remember..... any suggestions?

Permalink Reply by Howard Jones on September 7, 2012 at 15:06 The scooters listed so far are all fine. I bought my lambretta li125 in ignorance when I got back into them last year, especially as I prefer gears.
However I later discovered that unless I took my test on a motorbike (which I didn't want to do), there are only two 125cc scooters fast enough and hence DVLA approved that you can take your test on.
Those are the Vespa T5, & LML Star Deluxe 2T. I bought the LML, purely because a new one is roughly the same price as an 80/90's T5 these days. Flew through the test on it too, its a basically an upgraded PX. Taking your test on a geared scoot means you can ride Auto's too, but not the other way, So if that's your aim you need one of these two scooters.
Permalink Reply by steve76 on September 7, 2012 at 17:25 I would recommend a Vespa auto. Not quite the street cred of a geared scooter but easier to ride. If you then think its your thing you can move into geared scoots later. Can't go to far wrong with a PX.
