The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool!

This is a question I pose to the young Mods around these days - Which bands do you consider as 'Mod' bands?

I am really curious about what you younger Mods consider to be 'Mod' music. I was looking at a Mod site whose membership seemed to be made-up of todays Mods & I saw that one of Oasis' albums was included in a play list, & it made me wonder if Oasis are considered to be a modern day Mod band by the younger Mods?

Then I got to thinking about what bands were around that could be considered Mod?

Guys, I know there are a few tribute bands & near-formation bands... this post is not about those types of bands. Unless that's what the younger Mods like...

I just wanna know what the younger Mods consider to be Mod bands today.

That's a good question!
Actually we had a discussion on our Moscow Mod Scene Site, where I posted an article about Mod Bands Of Today. I'm gonna write it again)))

1. The 5 Aces
2. The Gene Drayton Unit
3. James Hunter
4. Eddie Roberts
5. James Taylor Quartet
6. Nick Rossi Set
7. Eli "Paperboy" Reed

That's It. Absolutely agree with ya about Oasis)))Who said they're mods?)))Maybe the reason is the following - they had a concert where everywhere ya could see targets, targets, targets)))Jesus, target is not the main mod attribute)))That's my opinion!
I saw a post by Lainey here last night and it's gone :(. Oasis are rubbish but I'm not a young person so my comment mean nothing. I wanted to ask The_Ace_Face, do you mean The 5 Aces from Glasgow? If so, they split up as far as I know, I'm sure that's what Mark said last time I saw him. Then again you might mean another 5 aces?
ocean colour scene
i did say on my comment b4 u rip me, these are bands my son likes ....tho he only listens to the 60,s music...small faces, yardbirds, the who n mix of others.

I think its a personal taste n i personally like Oasis, Any band nowadays that use their own instruments n write music have got to be rated( not as mods) just as artists.
See u got me started now lol, I also think the connection Oasis have with Weller n The Who is a factor in younger ppl embracing them. How may times have they played n done charity work (teenage cancer trust) with the above.

We all had to find our way when we found the scene, its all a learning curve.

ova n out hahaha
Oh yes, I meant the 5 aces from Glasgow. If they really splitted up - that's really bad news(((Nevertheless, i think the other bands from my list are 100% "mod sound" bands.
AF, Mark wasn't out this weekend, he's generally at Friday Street. Last time though there was some taalk of creative differences (that means they were all fighting haha). Hopefully they'll get back to it though as they were pretty good. If I see him I'll ask him for you.

Nothing wrong with being a rusky, a mod is a mod.

ace face,it was more of a social welcoming comment, you are entering the glasgow mod site here, where humour and piss taking are accepted amongst friends.surely even russians have a sense of humour.i don't do sarcastic humour, life's to short for that nonsense.
Cheers, mate!)I didn't mean anything bad, and really understand your humour))))Thanks for welcoming. Nice to see such people!
