The Society of Cool!

We are losing alot of the old singers so I wanna know who's your favourite soul singer of all time? For me it has to be The Godfather Of Soul, Mr Superbad himself James Brown (God rest his soul).

My favorite, although not the best, male would be Gino Washington, probably because of the British connections.
Favorite and probably the best (imo) female is Aretha Franklin.

Marvyn Gaye, also the singer of (today any way !) my favourite soul record of all time "Loved Starved Heart of Mine", closely followed by Darrell Banks.

having thought about this question for a while now and it's about as hard a music question you could throw at us, there are so many but being forced into a decision.

Otis ,                try to listen to ' I've be loving you too long' on you own and not get a bit tearful.

Janis Joplin       to me the greatest female singer of all time. she should be black

Either Otis Redding or Marvin Gaye!

Easy- Luther Vandross.

;)

Was it not Lionel Rich Tea that did 'Easy' ha ha.

Yrs Chris, it was! :-)

Nah this was a white label I was on about.
