The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool!

Why do people join the site, set up a page and then bugger off never to heard of again. Why bother in the first place? Just asking.

As said previously, the fact that its the same bunch who post maybe off putting to some people. They might get the idea thats its a close knit clique. When in fact everybody is welcome to join in. (the first times the hardest)...:-) (-:

Time for my first post then !     : )

What does put new people off posting on forums is there are always a few who will criticise and belittle the new perhaps young poster, I am not of course refereing to this friendly forum but I can assure you it happens, so lets make it welcoming and use our experience in all things Mod to encourage new members and help them. they are the future.

Well said Derek!

Well said Derek ,the new crowd should be welcomed ,and pointed in the right direction, where need be.Everyone on here is friendly enough, you might get the odd little disagreement, but that just goes to show how passionate people are about the scene ,everyone has their own ideas whats right and wrong, and thats the way it's always going to be.:-)

Spot on Gary!

Well said Derek and Gary.

this is probably people like me, i,m on the site regular but don,t post much,i like reading about the 80,s mods from glasgow, i know a few old faces, i was a mod then and now but didn,t go to the places, got married young etc,, i love the website.

When I joined this site I introduced myself  first and then started a thread, wasn't long before we were all chatting away. Maybe an introduction thread would help where new folks introduce themselves first and we welcome them ??

Good post Andy

I just joined today and hope I can stay on for a while! Problem is that there are a lot of social sites out now and it may be hard to devote enough time to all of them. Also, I try checking on things during work breaks and such.

That said, I just dig that there's a social site dedicated to Mod stuff!

Still here, this is a great site love reading the articles and discussions. I spend hours on this site looking and listening to the music, will try to get a lil more involved.
