well done Bradley top mod

I ask myself is it good that MOD gets such a lot of additional publicity right now!? I don´t have to worry because I´m out of reach, but isn´t there a risk in the UK that Mod again gets exploited in the media and hence encourages a lot of "wannabe´s" and Cash-ins!? I for one am happy if it´s kept small and elitist, but then again, all that fuzz about Wiggo, though registered, barely palpable over here and the german media have completely forgotten about Mod since the 80´s (that´s not strictly true, there was a short lived hype in the mid-90´s). I personally like it to stay that way.

personally i think that most 'youth' here in the uk are too ''chaved up'' to notice or give a toss about Bernie Wiggins, mod or sport for that matter..i don't see a revival on the way, maybe a few curious kids might try find out more and become influenced and hence mod, but as its not big business (MOD) unless its in fashion, then the media will treat it like a novelty and the odd bit of mod related news might pop up now and again..so, i for one don't think too may people will jump on the band wagon and become mods, and if they do, they wont last long and just jump off when it all disappears from the limelight of media attention or some 'celebrity' becomes the in thing and there off wearing the 'latest fashions' from peacocks and jd sports. i agree with you kai, ide hate to see it become over saturated, like it did with the revival years, tho it was great that mod became so massive, i like the way it is now, underground, elitist (not snobby tho) stylish and 'off the radar' so to speak. keeps it clean, smart, and private...feels exclusive.

It's hardly underground at the moment, we have hairdressers actors and sportsman all saying they have mod connections, we have a revived curiosity from 40 somethings who have been very unmod since 86 and have suddenly modded up for a couple of years spurting out claims of being mods since 79 and until they die! And we have groups of sixties mods all riding round on Lambrettas again and attending a huge surge of new mod nights all competing with each other. Nothing elite here! Nice to have a few youngsters popping their heads round the corner but will flee within a couple of years if the oldies don't allow new  young bands. Was nice when it was elite and only a handful about .

Come over here, Andy, this must be paradise then, hahaha! (Though sometimes I´m tired of travelling at least an hour to events with like-minded people)

yeah but I haven't found any like minded people yet haha

Fair enough, it contradicts the definition of the purely individual being!
