Young Mods / Scooter boys Wanted

Hi im 18 and am trying to start a scooter club. there are many scooter clubs near me but there full of oldies. i want to make a club catering for young mods ... the more mods we no the bigger the scene will grow. so if your under 25 and in the merseyside area email me .. I cant believe that you are trying to start a under 25's scooter club Dean that's a bit ageist isn't it if it wasn't for the older Mods there wouldn't be a scene at all. i am a mod and 56 but i wouldn't want to start a scooter/ old mod club there is a place for everyone in the mod scene and of all ages you could learn a lot from us old boys. oh and im from Merseyside.

yea dont get me wrong i appreciate that there wouldnt be young mods without the originals but i want to dedicate a club too the younger generation. i still plan to meet at events with all the people in the scooter scene, just i want a place for mods my age to be. apparently there used to be a scooter club called the old bastards for over 24's i just thought i would reverse the trend and try to get as many younger mods on board.

we will see how it goes even if there are only 2 or 3 of us to start with its a start.
you guys need young mods to keep the scene alive and im sure lots of young mods will be put off joining most scooter clubs as they tend to be full of older men so a young scooter club will just encourage young mods to meet with like minded similar aged scooterists :)

I think it's a good idea if it encourages young lads to get into scooters and all things mod, especially if you are affiliated to an established club. No offence to anyone but I didn't want to hang around with anyone in their 30s, 40s or 50s when I was 17.

Whilst I do appreciate that there are/were original and revival Mods around, what you are proposing as a scooter club sounds like a great idea! I am one of two 27-year-olds in my local scooter club here in Oz, and it can be rather daunting - as a female - to be in a club with a lot of people aged over 40. I enjoy it at times because of the music and their experiences as scooterists, but the politics of it gets me hot under the [penny] collar!

Good to take reference and ideas from the old boys though! I posted some flyers at a nearby college in Cornwall up for my Do and Rideout, unfortunately no interest. At the local Scooter Rally I only saw two young Mods, hopefully there are more coming through.

yea ill be needing help of you oldies ;) no doubt... haha, and yea ive heard of cloud 9 and shed of shame just didnt really want to join them as i thought there would be no1 my age :( ... im going to enquire and attend a few rally with them to try and find some younger mods on the scene.

 

and yea the idea is just for a scooter club not necaserly just for mods.

Theres got to be a handful of mods around my age with scooter tho surly??????

i have 2 friends who are also mods ones 18 and the other 23 but they dont have scooters yet. and yes, we need young mods, or the scene will die!

Good luck Dean , be nice if you get a few Younger Mods, and not Scooterists/ Scooter Boys, as its a totally different Scene, Music and Style wise....best of Luck anyway...

when I was a young fella I did'nt want to be hanging around with oldies either.

now I'm an oldie :-( ...

go for it. My arms are getting tired carrying the torch , its time to pass it on :-)
