The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool!

Bit like young or old Elvis who looks best.

As 80s Mod still prefer early look/fashions to Weller now. No offence to  look alikes and there are many as he looks today.

Your opinions welcome.

I like Wellers (Jam) look, i dont really have a reason as to why i prefer that look.

Tho i do think he is the only man that can pull off a full head of grey hair off and make it look cool!!

The man still looks sharp, just prefer earlier Mod style.

I thought Weller was smart as eff until around the Style Council c.85 era. From then onwards his taste has never been quite as good to me. He's a guy that I will always admire I suppose but some of the gear he wears now (that pin stripe suit) is pretty poor tbh.

Hate to be the knobhead here but I don't like his style from after style council to the present at all. Early 90's being the worst, I mean dang, frank black looked better than him back then.

I guess his best style was late jam/early style council.

Always been a fan since 77 but never saw the need to try and copy him in anyway. Put it this way...i'm a big Bowie fan but i don't go around dressed like Ziggy Stardust. lol.

Wow, that's a relief Gord!

I'm a big Link Wray fan but I ain't got a quiff lol

I like his look at present. He's flexed, twisted and pushed the mod look and made it his own which is great, at least there's a man who's still bothered about his appearance and still wants to make a statement about himself.

Still, those flicks of him in his Aquascutum mac, jeans and loafers on the cover of Cafe Bleu were, at the time, so inspiring for me.

Yeah me too! was it an Aquascutum mac, I never knew that?

I like the old 'The Jam' Paul Weller look more, but the recent look isn't bad either...well except vor the 'Pretty Green' stuff he's wearing from time to time.

Pretty Green do some good gear though! just the weller stuff is a bit rubbish. Kaftans aint mod in any way

Some of the Pretty Green shirts & jackets classic 60s look.

Kaftans for hippies.
