The Mod Generation

The Society of Cool!

Just wondered whats your favorite piece of clothing you have at the moment? I'm into my Merc clothing so i would say my Merc parka. I also have just bought a Mustard coloured Merc cardigan which is absolutely gorgeous. I look a real bobby dazzler in it.

Gibson boating blazer, Madcap racing jumper, Merc crombie, black scarf with yellow polka dots. Can´t wait for the summer to end to wear all this and leave the polo- shirts in the wardrobe!!!

Going to get a suit from Modclothing soon.

do a nice bespoke! some great linings....

Is it true Andrew they´re using Merc patterns for the cuts? That would mean, as usual, one size up with the trousers?

No totally untrue I have things made up to how I want them. I haven't done mail order though I go see my pals at the shop and get measured up! You can send your measurements on line though. Mind you the suits are snug Italian fitting... they can do a bum freezer if you wanted. Pockets buttons vents epaulets, anything you want. Pocket flaps, or a v cut out, splits and buttons, anything you can think off. Fart flap or single vent or none at all.

Fart flap, lol...never heard that one before! Modclothin said so themselves on their web site that they use merc patterns on certain suits, not the bespoke ones, surely...

"Copied from the merc sizes" it actually says in their "make your own suit" section. I like their plain black one but will certainly go for something 4 buttoned. I like the Adam suits, too, but they look as if you have to have your lower ribs removed to wear them, lol!

Yeah maybe the sizing but they measure you in the shop and make how you want, I too like a 4 button :)

Theres still no rhyme or reason to there sizes kai, if only life was so simple m8.

Wow this is a difficult one, in fact impossible for me to answer.  Yeh I know I'm not usually stuck for words. It's says piece of clothing, can't answer that, but clothes :-

I've started collecting vintage Levi jackets, blue, black denim, and different colour cordroy (urgently need a white one, not cord) so i love these. Have 3 white jean jackets but not Levi. Also love my Levi jeans cus they are everyday practical wear.

Shirt wise I've bought some vintage tabs from the USA, via ebay, and I love them too, bit hot to wear them at the moment.

Fave shoes, white pumps/plimsoles/gym shoes, which ever you call them. Have worn similar since the 60's and they are always comfortable and easy to move in.  I seem to live in polo shirts too. I like to look bright, contrasting items red, white n blue, but not union jack clothing...

JB, dont forget your collarless cardin jacket m8!!  :-))
