He's maybe tried to do it, but the grass cutters are a particularly powerful lobby group in the US, slightly more powerful than the gun lobby, and slightly less than the tobacco lobby ha ha.

As described in another post I also prefer the classic three button effort. But if you are getting it made you can always have small changes to suit (no pun intended) yourself. Unlike Kai I have never liked side vents and always go for a centre one.

Although mohair is always associated with Mod style suits I personally prefer a really nice pure new wool done in a classic three buttoned style. If I am getting one made I also go for all the trimmings such as covered buttons and fancy lining with…

Here in the NW., its about £800, but if we are talking mohair and maybe silk twist you are over £1,000. If you are a little pushy you get what you want, ie to your contours, lol, and with those features that make you want to wear it…

That sounds like a fair idea actually Graeme. Beats diving up the road to Glasgow at 3 in the morning half canned and stopping every 45 minutes for a hit n miss.

Location so important, Leeds, being traditionally a textile town, is the cheapest place i know for getting suits made, so much so i know a lad from Glasgow who travels down there to get hiis stuff made up, still works out cheaper than up here

Their shirts were £120 quid. Which although a lot of dosh is only about £30 more than the Camiche one's that were on sale at that shop in Buchanan shopping centre.

I never knew they went out business, I did here though that they were quite expensive, not sure if that reason was connected or not.

He doesn't mate, he's got a wee back street type shop in the West End of Glasgow where he does all his measuring and cutting etc. Oh and smoking. cough cough LOL A few of the Glasgow mods use him. He made Paul Molloy's suit for his…

About Me:
I first got into the Mod scene around October 1980. By April of the following year I had my own scooter bought from Mickey Oates in Glasgow.
The best times undoubtedly came when I met up with a crowd of guys and girls and started to go to the lindella and Scene Club. Glasgow in 1981 was a fantastic place to be a Mod in, incredibly vibrant. Some times it was possible to witness more than 100 scooters gathering at the one time, and on one ocassion for a Scene Club shoot there must have been more than 200. A great scene, fantastic music, and as cool as it is possible to get on this earth.
Top 5 tunes at the moment:
She Blew a Good Thing-The Poets
Mickey's Monkey- The Miracles
When I Call Your Name - Stranger and Patsy
That's Entertainment - The Jam
Hello Stranger-Barbara Lewis
Teardrops are Falling - Little Natalie and Henry
Vespa, Lambretta or other?
1973 Vespa Sprint Veloce.

I don't know that I'd know Spenny if I fell over him these days, although everyone so far seems to still look the same just a little greyer and slightly rounder. So your still in touch with Alex, tell him I said hi and that I seen his venture into Stand-up.  Will def try to get down for Feb. I might have to be in London then but I hope not.

It may have seemed that way as he was with me a lot around then,  I think he did a soft spot for me though. Alex is a great guy but I didn't date him. I did go out with Big Spenny for a bit. Scared the living daylights out of me by making me watch American Werewolf in London in the pitch black. Wasn't so much the film but the fact he never told be he'd a dog (like a big lurcher ) that decided to sneak up and plonk its head on my lap half way through the film.
