Did Mod completely die out in your area around late 60's / early 70's ? If so please tell us how the Mod scene was brought back to life. What gave people the incentive ? Who started the Mod revival ? and where did it all start ? Was it the 80's or a…Continue

Profile Information

About Me:
ex 60's Mod more individual now, so wear crazy stuff, but still into Mod clobber. Wear trackys indoors as I do lots of exercising (sit ups, chin ups, push ups, treadmill, you get the idea) and on the mountain bike (wiv a black zipper jacket), spose I look more like an old Chav.. But come the summer and if I'm walkin or drivin then I smarten up a bit, but not always Mod like. Probs look more like a Skinhead half the time, cus I shave the topknot, as I'm fed up wiv goin bald in the middle.. Was on scooters till last year (2011) but now have a small old Vauxhall Nova from the 90's.

Where I might differ from others is that I've moved from the 'city' to the countryside/seaside. If I still lived in my hometown (Reading) or if I still lived in Bristol (my last city address) then I would probably think more 'Mod', but living in the countryside (looking out of my back windows onto fields and the woodland) gives me a different aspect of life. The sea (Sidmouth) is only five minuites down the road, the countryside is right here. Devon is a different way of life to living in the city, though Exeter is only around 20 minuites drive away. Riding a scooter around the lanes isn't exactly carefree though, too much cows poo and grit or gravel on the roads, it's a constant worry thinking about what might be coming round the next narrow bend. So at 62 I think it's time to hang up the skid lid and parka, but who knows, when the sun shines again, my thoughts may return to two wheels.
Top 5 tunes at the moment:
Have started listening to some old Rolling Stones audio tapes i have
Vespa, Lambretta or other?
No scooter at the mo'
