The Society of Cool!

Some questions have been raised in recent days over the Scottish Mod Rally to Ayr, organised by Friday Street.  These question came about as the Station Hotel which hosts the event has recently come under new mangement and it has been reported that the owners dont, as yet, have an entertainment licence.

However, Friday Street Chairman, Mickey Collins, himself headed down to Ayr, where a meeting was held by the local council to discuss granting a licence especially for the Mod weekend.

Having presented his case Mikey started to sweat when the councillors asked for any objections to the licence and one old fellow immediately shot up his hand. But he needn't have worried as it turned out the old gent was a 60's mod who loved seeing all the scooters and faces in town last year and declared:

"The Mods are welcome in Ayr anytime!"

Consequently, it can be confirmed that the 2nd annual Scottish Mod Weekend to Ayr is going ahead as planned - indeed there is an official licence to party!

In related news, The Chairman has also been in discussion with the Supreme Being and can guarantee fine weather for the weekend (apparently).
