The Society of Cool!
I know if it's audio only it's not really a video but this seemed to be the best place to put it. I've added a few titles/comments on screen. This is the whole of the recording that Young Man Blues and Green Onions are from (uploaded here last week). Quite amazing.

Comment by John Armstrong on October 9, 2012 at 21:33 I did wonder if Pete Meadon had recorded it and someone knicked it...

Comment by maxr&b on October 8, 2012 at 13:35 I think this is a pretty amazing tape - Who nuts would probably pay a lot of money for this. Amazing it's survived all these years too. There's a few High Numbers tracks on the 30 years of Max R&B box set as you probably know. It's a shame they can't find a few more recordings and cobble together an album. You ought to try and contact the Who although how you do that is beyond me! I bet they'd be interested in this.

3.20-4.30 You Really Got Me (inst)
4.30-6.05 Young Man Blues
6.05-8.45 Green Onions
8.45-10.26 You Really Got Me improvisation again
10.26-15.00 Long Tall Shorty
30 seconds of crowd noises banging and announcements
15.31-19.22 Pretty Thing
19.22-29.48 Smokestack Lightning medley
29.48-31.42 Here'tis
The tape said June '64 I don't think it's quite that early, I can't find a precise date but You Really Got Me was recorded in July '64 and released early August so unless The Kinks had already been playing it live before then it is probably August/September. But, as they don't quite get the rhythm, it is possible they're playing from memory of hearing it live...
